Drugs seized in Listowel traffic stop

LISTOWEL – One person was charged after an investigation revealed they were in possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

On Nov. 26 just before midnight, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police officer on general patrol conducted a traffic investigation on Wallace Avenue North, Listowel. During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and other drug- trafficking paraphernalia.

As a result, Rebecca Antaya, 35, of Cambridge, has been charged with: Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule I Substance – opioid (other than heroin), and fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
