Drug charges laid following traffic stop

NORTH PERTH – Charges have been laid following a traffic stop on Perth Road 164 in the Municipality of North Perth.

On May 3 just before 12 a.m., a Perth County OPP officer stopped a motor vehicle to investigate a possible suspended driver.

Through the course of the investigation and subsequent search of the motor vehicle, a quantity of illicit drugs was located inside the vehicle.

As a result, Tammy Ethier, 59, of Kelowna, British Columbia, has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

A 58-year-old resident of Atwood has been charged with drive while under suspension, and drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
