Driver charged with impaired in North Perth

NORTH PERTH – Another driver charged with an impaired related offence in the Municipality of North Perth.

On July 10 just before 2 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on general patrol when a vehicle stop was conducted on Mitchell Road South in North Perth.

During the investigation, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage. An approved screening device was used and they were arrested, and subsequently transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Tyson Hamilton, 20, of Listowel, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), and operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

A 90-day administrative driver’s license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
