Crash claims life of cyclist in Chesley

CHESLEY – A July 6 crash in Chesley has claimed the life of a cyclist.

South Bruce OPP received a report of the crash between a passenger vehicle and a bicycle around 7:48 a.m. on Thursday. The crash occurred along 1st Avenue South. Police and Bruce County EMS responded.

The cyclist, whose identity has not been released by police, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Members of the South Bruce OPP, along with the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and the Coroner’s Office, continue to investigate the crash.

“The investigation is in its early stages. Updates will be provided as they become available,” said Kevin Martin, a spokesperson for the South Bruce OPP.
