LISTOWEL – Listowel Memorial Hospital has issued a “Code Grey” due to flooding on the ground floor of the building.
In a press release, officials stated that a 10-inch watermain break occurred overnight Sunday, causing the flooding.
The impacted areas of the hospital are the clinical areas of the ground floor, including diagnostic imaging (X-ray), emergency department, ambulatory care, cafeteria and the lab.
The hospital says that urgent emergency care is able to be managed.
Those requiring emergency care and are able to attend a neighbouring hospital are encouraged to do so. Minor and moderate care is to be sought elsewhere.
In addition, all outpatient appointments for today are cancelled. Visits are being encouraged to visit the hospital another day.
More to come.
