On June 6 of 1939, the Rotary Club of Walkerton was awarded its charter from Rotary International, giving our community one of its foremost service clubs. The one-year-old Hanover Rotary Club was our sponsor, with the encouragement of the Owen Sound Club.

Canada Road Safety Week ran from June 21 to July 1, with OPP officers focusing on the “big four” causal factors in serious collision on OPP patrolled roadways – impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and failing to wear a seatbelt.
