The Walkerton Capitals U11 LL #2 squad captured the WOAA Central South Silver Championship on March 25, defeating the Seaforth Stars 2-0 in a best-of-three series. The Walkerton Capitals U9 Girls team powered their way through the WOAA playoffs, claiming the White Division Championship with a 10-1 victory over the Mount Forest Rams in the final on March 27. In three games at the year-end tournament, the team allowed only two goals while scoring 31. Team member

At the time of publication, the Wingham Ironmen are down 3-0 in their Provincial Junior Hockey League Pollock Division best-of-seven playoff series against the top-seeded Hanover Barons. 

The Listowel Squash Courts hosted a Paddyfest squash tournament on March 12, with Greg Ford and Dave Dickey pictured above playing in the final game.

The Paddyfest pickleball tournament was at full capacity at Between The Lines Sports Campus in Listowel on March 19, with eight ladies and eight men’s doubles teams taking part.

At this point in the regular season points are at a premium, and the Listowel Cyclones managed to squeeze a pair against one of the Midwestern Conference’s top clubs in an overtime win over the Cambridge Redhawks on Saturday.

On March 18, Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson stopped by the Walkerton Golf and Curling Club to meet with representatives to hear about the impact that a $33,200 Community Building Fund grant has had on curling in the community since the Club received it last year.
