A new grassroots youth group is finding its footing in the rich soil of North Perth. Advised by two local teachers and community leaders, Kinsman Tyler Schaefer and Kinette Jill Fowler are excited to be bringing a new facet to the Kin organization.

The Optimist Club of Mornington hosted a Roll-A-Thon fundraiser on Sept. 17 for the Milverton All Wheels Park Project at the Milverton Perth East Recreation Complex (PERC) Pavilion. The event, designed to raise funds for the project, was a great success.

Many have paused recently to watch live television broadcasts of rituals and other observances of respect marking the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Branch 259 of the Royal Canadian Legion paid a solemn tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on Monday morning, Sept. 19, at the Listowel Cenotaph. Padre Ralph Dwarika officiated the service, which featured a wreath laying and colour party salute to the beloved monarch who passed away on Sept. 8.

On Sept. 9, the Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) Board of Health met via Zoom to approve Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Dr. Miriam Klassen’s compensation, as well as to receive the MOH’s report.

Coming off a record-breaking 2021 fundraising campaign, the United Way Perth-Huron (UWPH) has set its sights even higher in 2022.

The organization Ontario Puppy Mills – Stop This Now conducted a delegation at North Perth’s council meeting on Sept. 19.

All were welcome at the 42nd annual Listowel Terry Fox Run on Sept. 18, and for being the first year back for an in-person event since 2019, it certainly did not disappoint.
