Over 150 people braved the cold on Saturday, Feb. 25 for the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY).

Impressions Bakery Café is expanding to a second location, just down the road from its current home in downtown Listowel. The Listowel Banner sat down with owner, Graham Lichti, to learn more about what is in store for one of the town’s favourite bakeries.

The chilly conditions didn’t keep maple syrup enthusiasts away on Friday, Feb. 24, as about 40 people gathered at Hoover’s Maple Syrup operation on Line 78 north of Atwood for the ceremonial first tree tapping of the season.

A local man has a new hero, his granddaughter, who got him safely to the hospital after a softball-sized rock slammed through the windshield of his vehicle and shattered his face as he was driving on the 8th Line near his rural home on Feb. 13.
