“The crime of being old and blind” is the alarming title of the editor’s remarks in Green Holly, a collection of poems and stories written by local women, that was published at Christmas time in 1895.

The Kinette Club of Listowel hosted its annual community carol sing at the Listowel branch of the North Perth Public Library on Nov. 23, with many residents turning out with their families to get in the early festive mood with some holiday classics.
