Bruce County Beef Farmers support local food banks

BRUCE COUNTY – Good, healthy food is of highest importance for the Bruce County Beef Farmers.

This year, after a successful 49.5th Annual Beef BBQ (Drive-Thru) in July, the Beef Farmers are supporting their neighbours that need a hand this winter.

“We hold our barbecue every year to bring the community together and to raise money to support 4-H groups, fall fairs, and many other non-profit rural groups in Bruce County,” said Mike Jeffray, president of the Bruce County Beef Farmers. “But this year we also felt it was important to support the hot meal programs and food banks in Bruce County.”

The Beef Farmers are donating $3,200, split evenly amongst the 16 food banks and hot meal programs across Bruce County who have been working extra hard through the pandemic.

The Beef Farmers work to ensure that beef farming remains socially, economically, and environmentally viable for future generations through education, networking and promotion of healthy delicious beef.
