Brockton among 43 communities getting natural gas in phase 2 of expansion program

BRUCE COUNTY – MPP Bill Walker, associate minister of energy, joined Premier Doug Ford on Wednesday, June 9, to announce that 43 communities will receive funding for phase two of Ontario’s natural gas expansion program.

Two of those communities are Brockton, with the third-highest amount ($20,340,000, Epcor Utilities), and Neustadt ($5,128,997, Enbridge Gas Inc.).

Brockton’s project is expected to bring affordable, dependable natural gas to 501 customers; Neustadt’s, to 219 customers.

In total, the program will allocate more than $234 million to support 8,750 connections in 43 rural, northern and Indigenous communities.
