Break and enter interrupted in Wroxeter

HOWICK – Huron County OPP officers, with the assistance of the Huron OPP Crime Unit, are investigating a break and enter and attempted robbery that took place in Wroxeter.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 26, police responded to a building on Harriston Road in Wroxeter after the owner interrupted a break-in at his garage.

The owner happened to be in the garage at the time, so he went to check on things when some suspicious noises were heard inside. Two suspects were observed and one of them brandished a weapon demanding keys to a vehicle that was parked outside.

Police say the suspects were unsuccessful in their bid to get the keys to their desired vehicle, so they quickly took off running to a nearby getaway vehicle.

Members from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine and Forensic Identification Services later attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

The suspects are described as one being a taller male, wearing a black ski mask, a black loose-fitting jacket and black pants. The other suspect was described as having a smaller build, wearing a green jacket and a black ski mask.

The suspect vehicle was described as a smaller car.
