Bluevale driver arrested at RIDE checkpoint in Centre Wellington

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A driver from Bluevale has been charged by the Wellington County OPP with impaired driving after a RIDE program investigation on Nov. 17.

Police say on Nov. 17 around 9 p.m., officers were conducting RIDE spot checks on Highway 6 near Fourth Line in Centre Wellington. A commercial motor vehicle entered the checkpoint, and following an investigation by police the driver was charged.

The driver, James George Phillip Reaman, 34, from Bluevale has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code.

A 90-day driver’s licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph court at a later date to answer to the charge.
