South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) has been facing significant shortages in health human resources (HHR) for over five years, particularly with nurses and medical laboratory technologists.

Bruce County and the Saugeen Ojibway Nation (SON) have reached an out-of-court agreement, settling Bruce County’s involvement in SON’s long-standing legal action in relation to parts of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula.  

The Howick Optimist Club recently donated $500 to the Listowel Salvation Army Food Bank, with volunteer Carolyn pictured receiving the contribution.

The newly renovated mammography suite at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre is now open and fully operational; however, the Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation is still actively involved in its campaign to achieve its fundraising commitment of $485,000 to cover the cost of this upgrade.

Many churches mark the four weeks leading up to Christmas as the Season of Advent, the preparation for the coming of Jesus. At St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, Gavin Shewfelt, Alicia Kidd and Blaze Kidd light the first candle of hope.

Last week, trucks arrived at the Hanover Missionary Church (HMC), which served this year as one of the Operation Christmas Child central drop off locations for donors in North Wellington, Huron, Perth, Dufferin, Bruce and Grey counties.
