To the Editor: As Bruce County’s municipal election approaches, candidates should be asked to state clearly where they stand on large-scale data-centre development.

To the Editor: Humans are now outnumbered on the internet. According to researchers, bots account for more than half of all internet traffic. The consequences of this development are starting to show. 

The shuttering of Winnipeg’s Community Review means 200,000 households will no longer get the benefit of a free community newspaper delivered to their door. It also means that more than 800 people who deliver the paper and their families will be affected.

To the Editor: I just finished reading Denny Scott’s column about theatre etiquette (editor’s note: The magic of theatre (and what dispels it) ran in Midwestern Newspapers for June 25, 2026) and I had to send you my own story.

Dear Editor: It is well documented that Canadian made military  components are flowing through the US to war zones all around the world.

Dear Editor: Donald Trump. Orange man very bad right?  Why – because the tv told us he was. Because our government told us he is. 

To the Editor: The Bank of Montreal has announced it is abandoning branch service in Mildmay and Walkerton. No counter service. No ATM. No human beings. Just a locked door, a press release, and a suggestion that we all “go online.”

Dear Editor: The provincial governments of Ontario and Alberta are enthusiastically expediting the destruction of our treasured public health care system.

Dear Editor:   To me, 2025 was a fantastic year, at age 78 I made many new friends, some of which are a few Old Order Amish Families in Huron County (only God can arrange such friendships I truly believe)!

Dear Editor, The Elmwood Community Service Association and the community of Elmwood respectfully requests that the Municipal Council of Brockton grant our holiday wish and “Put the Elm back into Elmwood”.  

Dear Editor: I wish to express my support for Walkerton resident Bobbi Sharpe, who recently appeared before Brockton Council to raise concerns about the trapping of beavers in the Saugeen River.

To the editor: Like many in our community, I was extremely disappointed by BMO’s recent decision to close its local branches in Mildmay (where our family resides), and Walkerton.
