Margaret Ann (Smith) Ludington of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 4, 2026, in her 87th year.
Wife of Ross Ludington. Mother of Sally & Chris Longley of Listowel. Grandmother of Colin & Kelsey Longley of Chesley, Holly & Jesse Hirtzel of London, and Michael Longley of Ailsa Craig, and great-grandmother of Madison, Niyla, Rhettlyn, and Kenzie.
Remembered by Ross’ children Stephanie & Gary McLean of PEI, and Lorrie Ludington of Toronto, and grandchildren Sarah and Jayden. Stepsister of Barrie Sutton of Coventry, England, and sister-in-law of Doris Harrow of Listowel, Gordon & Barb Ludington of Wellesley, Carol Ludington, and Judy Ludington, both of Listowel. Also fondly remembered by Ray Porter of Wasaga Beach.
Predeceased by her brothers-in-law Fred & Audrey Ludington, Eric Ludington, Alvin Ludington, and Jim Harrow.
Margaret was involved in many different activities from bowling on Mondays with the group, to knitting sweaters, gloves, socks and even teddy bears for her grandchildren. Margaret enjoyed singing in the church choir and belonged to the ladies auxiliary. All around Margaret was such a caring, giving woman and it’s sad to see her gone.
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Calvary United Church, Listowel on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Interment in Donegal Cemetery.
