Joan Anne Boyce, age 82, of Stratford and formerly of Listowel and Hamilton, passed away peacefully at the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on Thursday April 2, 2026.
Born in Kingston, daughter of the late Edward and Lucille (Kane) Griffin. Beloved wife of Terrence Boyce. Joan is survived by her brothers Keith Griffin (Lyn Walkden) and Kevin Griffin (Linda), brother-in-law Bert Boyce (Anita), sister-in-law Lorraine Schumilas (Harry), her nieces Lisa Boyington (Dave), Dawn Griffin (Trystan Brown, deceased), Rebecca Boyce (Steffen), Claire Addiscott (Mark) and Catherine Tyler (Thomas), her nephews, Bret Schumilas (Mary Lou), Paul Griffin, Bryn Boyce and Aj Griffin (Leanne), great nieces, Melanie Tafelskey, Tessa Boyington, Tia Boyington (Cody Rebbeck), Layla Rosengren-Boyce and Emma Addiscott, and great nephews, Bryce Schumilas (Jori), Oscar Boyce-Lajoie, Orren Boyce-Lajoie, Noah Rosengren-Boyce, Aidan Griffin, Finley Griffin, Jack Tyler, Rhyce Addiscott and Jordan Addiscott and great-great nephew Gale Schumilas. Joan was predeceased by her brother Ronald Griffin.
Joan was a Graduate of St. Marys Hospital School of Nursing in Kitchener and provided exceptional care throughout her career for patients at Henderson General Hospital in Hamilton, Kincardine General Hospital, Listowel Memorial Hospital, Stratford General Hospital and the University of Waterloo Student Health Services.
Her loves and pastimes were many including; quality time with family and friends, playing with and making time for the children in her life, artistic and accomplished quilting, gardening and flower arranging, dance and ballet, birding, camping and hiking, travel, skiing and bicycling and bringing incredible joy and delight into many people’s lives.
