At Huronlea in Brussels on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, Roy William Dawson of Wingham passed away at the age of 94.
Beloved husband of the late Matilda (Hutchison) who predeceased him in 2003.
Dear dad and father-in-law of Donna & Allan Snowden and the late Arnold Dawson & Connie Dawson.
Proud grandpa of Melissa Scott, Jodi & Dan Cline, Paul & Corrie Dawson and
Shauna Dawson & Wade Benoit.
Great-grandpa of Alena and Nolan Scott, Adelyn, Dylan and Colin Cline and
Zachary, Laura, Ryan and Logan Dawson.
Brother of Florence Machan and Murray & Sonja Dawson.
Predeceased by his parents Philip & Jennie (Anderson) Dawson, sisters Lois
Dawson, Jean (Alex) Nethery, Mae (Mervin) Ritchie, brother Harold Dawson, great-grandson Nathan Scott and brother-in-law Doug Machan.
Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Monday, March 16th, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Reception followed at the Wingham Columbus Centre.
Interment will take place at Wingham Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Huronlea Resident’s Council or the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
