Mother of Richard & Colleen Bender of Listowel, Daryl Bender of Hamilton, and the late Charlene Hayden. Mother-in-law of Glen Hayden of Listowel.
Grandmother of Scott Hayden & Ginette Armstrong, Brian & Natalie Hayden, and Justin & Victoria Hayden, all of Listowel, Robert & Abra Hayden of Cochrane, AB, Wayne Hayden & Lorissa Stortz of Walsingham, Christine & Ryan Schuler of Kamloops, B.C., John Verhulp & Cristel of Petawawa, Matt & Kara Verhulp of Listowel, and Heather Verhulp of North Bay.
Great-grandmother of Claire, Isabelle, Carter, Katy, Graham, Eric, Heidi, Anya, Callie, Delilah, Harry, Charlie, and Romi.
Sister of Eric Exel of Lucknow, Gerda & Randy Roppel of Tiverton, Charles Exel of Tiverton, and Frances Exel & Gary Bergstra of Shallow Lake, and sister-in-law of Margaret Exel of Walkerton, and Walter Bender of Mississauga.
Predeceased by her parents Gerald & Gerrigje (Kleinlugtenbelt) Exel, sisters Anne Exel and Ada Haasnoot, brother Henry Exel, sisters-in-law Nikki Exel and Audrey Bender, and brothers-in-law Roger St. Denis, Ross Bender, and Wilfred Bender and his wife Verna.
Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday, February 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service was held at Listowel Pentecostal Church on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. Reception followed. The service was live-streamed, and the link is available on the funeral home website.
Spring interment in Zion United Church Cemetery, Wallace Township.
