Evelyn Bernice Kennedy (née Reid) of Ripley and formerly of Teeswater, passed away with family by her side, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine on Friday, January 2nd, 2026, in her 100th year.
Loving mother of Cathy (Doug) Mowbray, Brenda (Monty) Edgar, Reid (Debbie) Kennedy, Launa (Len) Voisin, Linda (Brent) Shields, and John (Ronda) Kennedy.
Missed by 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, with 2 more expected in March.
Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Betty Kennedy, brother-in-law Jack Hall, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Colin Kennedy (2001), parents Hazel (née Vance) Reid Keyes and Laurence Reid, stepfather Elwin Keyes, sister Shirley Hall, brother Jim Keyes and in-laws, Catherine (Mike) Weiss, Hugh Kennedy, Stewart (Marjorie) Kennedy, Adam (Betty) Kennedy, Doug (Anita) Kennedy, John Lewis Kennedy (infant), Jessie (Pat) Clancy and Ron (Pete) Kennedy.
Mom started her adult life as a hairdresser in Ripley before marrying Dad. She continued with this career for many years in Teeswater before going to work as a receptionist for Dr. Phil Leahy, and later Dr. Marie Gear.
She and Dad loved to travel and visited many parts of the world. She was quite adventurous, swimming with the dolphins, hot air ballooning, parasailing and visiting the Grand Canyon all in her last 20 years of life.
Visitation at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Tuesday, January 27th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the funeral service to honour Ev’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with Ann Maycock officiating.
Spring interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Teeswater.
Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or the Teeswater Medical Centre would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
