James Edward Stewart, formerly of Mayne Corners, passed away peacefully at Huronlea, Brussels on Friday, September 12, 2025, in his 94th year.
Husband of Patricia (Kelly) Stewart.
Father of Patti & John Rozendal of Wingham, Pam & Bob Denstedt of St. Clements, Jeff & Colleen Stewart of Aurora, Judy & Ken Turney, and Jason Stewart, all of Listowel.
Grandfather of Patrick (Tamara), Matthew, Kelsie, Reid, Austin, Marc (Erin), John, Alison (Caleb), Jennifer, Ashley (Tyler), Jamie (Sadie), Dylan, Taylor, Owen, and Austin, and great-grandfather of Kallie, Leah, and Blake.
Brother of Isabel Hudson of Hanover, Jean & Les Edmonds of South Surrey, BC, Jack & Sonja Stewart of Oshawa, Roy & Sharon Stewart of Gorrie, Grace & John Weigel of Mildmay, Ray & Wendy Stewart of Gorrie, and Cliff & Jan Stewart of Listowel, and brother-in-law of Reta & Jim Doig of Harriston, John & Jackie Kelly of Harriston, and Sue Kelly of Mount Forest.
Predeceased by his parents Oliver & Eva (Coates) Stewart, brother Carl Stewart, parents-in-law Austin & Irene (Cantlon) Kelly, sister-in-law Joan Stewart, and brothers-in-law Frank Kelly, Gene Kelly, and Jim Hudson.
Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Sunday, September 14 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a Masonic Memorial Service at 12:30 p.m.
Funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception that followed at Parkview Gardens (Listowel Legion). The service was live-streamed, and the link is available on the funeral home website.
Interment was in Fordwich Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Huronlea Residents Council, Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Molesworth would be appreciated.
