Patricia Ann (Ducklow) MacDonald

Patricia Ann (Ducklow) MacDonald of Listowel passed away at Caressant Care on Monday, December 16, 2024, in her 79th year.

Pat was born in Listowel and was predeceased by her parents Albert & Ruth (Simpson) Ducklow, and her brother John, and she is survived by her sister Mary Bell.

Pat married her life partner, William MacDonald in 1964 and were blessed with four children, Angie Hamilton, Sherry Collins, Shelly Carter (Matt), and Al MacDonald (Julie Mitchell).  She also had 11 grandkids, Chris (Holly), Jason (Megan), Brooke (Jon), Hamilton, Amanda (Dave) Sedlmeir, Derek and Blake (Becky) McIntosh, Nic (Steph), Colton, and Janessa Carter, Kyle (Justine) and Scott MacDonald, and Austin Coelho.  Great-grandma loved all of the visits from her 16 great-grandchildren.

Pat started her work career at Spinrite, then the Listowel Daycare and finished at Zehrs where she had worked for over 35 years.  She loved her job and her Zehrs girls:  Jen, Faye, Carol, Jan and Sandy.  Lots of good times and cottage memories with these ladies.

In her younger years, Pat loved to play baseball and cheer on all of her kids and grandkids in their various sports.

She liked to play a mean game of euchre with Dad, support her children at all times, grow beautiful gardens and go to church.

Pat had a kind, kind heart.  She was willing to help out anyone, saw the best in all and was empathetic to everyone’s situation no matter what it was.

We will miss her but the truth is that dementia had stolen bits of her mind increasingly over the past couple of years – but she never, ever forgot “her Billy”, her hubby.  She would light up every time she saw him and for that we are thankful.

Thanks to Caressant Care and Dr. Gateman for their care and attention.
