WALKERTON – The works of Janet Saunders are featured on the Walkerton Art Wall, located at the Bruce County Public Library – Walkerton Branch, until Jan. 26.
As a child, Saunders learned to paint with oils from an aunt who was a landscape artist. Saunders continued her education at Toronto School of Art and Sheridan College, exploring many other mediums. Today, she focuses her career in acrylics and has embraced creating beautiful landscapes.
“I use the vibrant colours of acrylic paint to capture the beauty and energy of our natural world,” said Saunders. “Painting is my meditation. I feel a deep connection to the world around me while contemplating a tree. There is contentment and peace walking in a forest, watching a sunset, or seeing flowers burst into bloom. I paint what I see, beauty all around.”
