Wingham hospital receives grant from Royal Canadian Legion

WINGHAM – The Wingham and District Hospital (WDH) Foundation is the recipient of a grant in the amount of $6,380 provided by the Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Command Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliaries Charitable Foundation.

This donation has helped purchase new scopes for the operating room at the WDH.

Generous donations to the WDH Foundation, including this one from the Legion Charitable Foundation, have allowed the entire complement of OR scopes to be upgraded over the past year. The new scopes have enhanced technology that improves image management, reporting and simplifies data collection.

The Royal Canadian Legion Charitable Foundation has a strong legacy of supporting veterans through investment in quality local healthcare. The grants provided by the Royal Canadian Legion serve to keep comprehensive health care available close to home and help aging veterans and their spouses live independently, safely and comfortably in their home communities as long as possible.

The WDH Foundation extends a sincere thank you to the local Legions in Wingham, Lucknow, Blyth, Howick and Brussels, their auxiliaries and to the Ontario Command. Thank you for recognizing the value of having quality healthcare close to home.
