LISTOWEL – On Aug. 6 just after 4 a.m., Perth County OPP stopped a motor vehicle on Queen Street East in the Municipality of North Perth.
The driver was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer had reason to believe they had consumed drugs. The driver was transported to a local operations centre for further testing.
As a result, Michael Ryan, 49, of Sarnia, has been charged with failure to comply with undertaking, operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine.
A 90-day administrative driver’s license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
