WALKERTON – On Nov. 10, the Walkerton Kinsmen Club presented the Walkerton Rotary Club with a cheque for more than $12,000.
These funds were raised from the Kinsmen’s annual novelty casino and raffle that took place virtually in May 2021. The money was donated towards trail maintenance and repairs in the local area.
COVID isolation and restrictions has more people doing more activities outside. So, the community is seeing a higher demand and usage of the local trail system. Because of this, the Walkerton Kinsmen Club thought that it was a very worthwhile cause to support the Walkerton community by giving to the Rotary Club and their work in this area.
The Kinsmen are already planning for its next Kinsmen Raffle and Novelty Casino Night, which is scheduled for May 13, 2022. These tickets will be on sale starting the first week of December.
