Club members and dignitaries gathered at the Walkerton Golf and Curling Club (WGCC) on Saturday, Feb. 7 to celebrate 150 years of local curling. Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson congratulated the club on the special anniversary and for receiving a $54,100 capital grant last summer from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The funds will be used to install a new condenser and two heaters. Mayor Chris Peabody represented both the County of Bruce and Municipality of Brockton bringing congratulation on 150 years of curling. Recognition was given to the County of Bruce Community Grants 2025 thorough which 50 new curling brooms were purchased for the youth curling programs.
