Walkerton Community Church was the scene of a special outdoor Thanksgiving meal on Tuesday, Oct. 4, when a group of local volunteers served up a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The group has been serving burgers and fresh vegetables at noon on Tuesdays, to help those in need, but Thanksgiving called for something a bit more – and local businesses and individuals pitched in generously to make it happen. Representatives from the YMCA were among those present for the Thanksgiving meal. They’ve been providing people who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless with information and options, and ensuring people know their rights. (Pauline Kerr photo)
