The Empowered Collective visits Elma Township Public School

On May 1, members of The Empowered Collective visited Elma Township Public School to provide some knowledge and practical tools for Mental Health Awareness Week for Grade 5-8 students.

Angela Hauck, Ashley Grant and Karri-Anne Cameron shared insight on how to address stressors in our lives and suggested strategies on how to deal with them through mind, body, and soul.

Everyone experiences a wide range of stressors on a daily basis and the key to moving throughout our days is being able to recognize them, have coping strategies, develop a routine to prevent overload, and being able to recognize when our levels are getting too high and reaching out for help.

Some of the topic areas covered included the influence of food, exercise, breathing techniques, imagery, and body awareness.
