TEESWATER – The Teeswater Agriculture Society is gearing up for good times ahead as the fair weekend (Aug. 19-21) is quickly approaching.
Leading up to the big weekend, there are a couple of community events for the community to participate in.
On Saturday, June 11, the local group is hosting a Community Awareness Fair at the Teeswater Agri-Curl Building from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Teeswater Agriculture Society is encouraging any organization/group in the Teeswater/Culross community to have a table display and man an area with information about your organization.
This event will be open to the community as a way to promote awareness among local residents. It is a free event with free popcorn and free candy floss for kids. There will also be food available to purchase.
On the same day, June 11, the Agriculture Society will be hosting The Ontario Antique Spring Truck Show.
On Tuesday, July 5, the community group is hosting at the Agri Curl a Youth Agriculture Safety Day. Youth are encouraged to register with Dianne by emailing brucesafetyday@yahoo.ca.
Locals may realize that the 2022 Teeswater Fair dates are different than in years past. Due to some conflicting events with the truck participants, the fair board has decided to change the fair to the third weekend in August moving forward.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Let’s Open The Gates And Celebrate!”
As usual, the fair will host lots of events on the track, cattle and horse shows, farm gate to plate, kids zone, and homecraft exhibits, to name a few.
The fair will kick off Friday night with the Famous Wings, track events, arm wrestling, hospitality tent and entertainment by the band – Grace 2 (a Tragically Hip tribute band).
Chuckles the Balloon Wizard will be showing his talent on Saturday afternoon, and that night a dance will be held with music by the Lucas Rogerson Band.
Lots of food vendors will be on the grounds, as usual, and new this year will be locally fresh baked cinnamon buns.
