HURON COUNTY – The Huron County Library will once again host the TD Summer Reading Club this year.
The TD Summer Reading Club is aimed for young readers between the ages of four and 12.
“Through reading, creative crafts, activities, and games, this free program will help children improve their literacy skills, make meaningful social connections, learn about teamwork, and be creative! The program also introduces the library as a source for lifelong learning and recreation for youth,” states a release from the county.
Each of the 12 Huron County Library branches will host a weekly meeting between July 3 and Aug. 25. Each participant in the club will receive a reading club notebook, stickers pack, top summer reads list, and a bookmark. Participants also receive a web-access code that can be used on the tdsummerreadingclub.ca website to track reading progress and receive additional club benefits!
Maya Doherty and Nadine vanBreda, summer literacy coordinators at the Huron County Library, say they are excited to meet and engage with this year’s readers. The duo has prepared weekly themes to cater to a variety of interests, and believe that everyone will “have a blast!”
Registration is now open and can be completed online by visiting www.huroncountylibrary.ca.
