WALKERTON – Sistema Walkerton held its year-end concert at Victoria Jubilee Hall on June 27. The event was an opportunity for family and friends to hear student violin performances.
This year’s concert included duets and group performances of popular songs including “Cripple Creek,” Mozart’s “Serenade” and Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.”
“We’re so proud and impressed by this year’s cohort who all clearly demonstrated how hard work and perseverance pays off,” said Sistema Walkerton Executive Director Robin Zettel. “A huge thank you to this year’s sponsors for helping us reduce barriers to professional violin lessons – we look forward to next year.”
Every student received a medal and certificate to commemorate the occasion.
This year’s sponsors included Walkerton & District Optimist Club, Rotary Club of Walkerton, Meridian Credit Union, MusiCounts, Trillium ROOTS Community Fund and Kun Shoulder Rest.
