The splash pad washrooms and mechanical room building in Centennial Park was vandalized Monday night. The roof of the building and the interior were completely destroyed by fire. Day camp children were relocated to the community centre. The pool was also closed for the day while the investigation continued. As of press time, the extent of the damage wasn’t known. Also not known was when the pool would reopen, or if the splash pad would be closed for the remainder of the season. (Pauline Kerr photo)
