GREY-BRUCE – South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) will soon resume non-emergent and non-urgent procedures.
Non-emergent and non-urgent surgeries have been paused at all hospitals across the province since Jan. 5 when Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health, issued Directive #2 to preserve critical care and human resource capacity across the Ontario health care system.
On Feb. 1, Moore released a modified directive allowing for the gradual resumption of these non-urgent or non-emergent clinical activities in areas where system capacity appears to be secure, or where there is limited redeployment opportunity.
The revisions to the directive relating to non-emergent surgeries is limited to pediatric surgeries only at this time.
As a result of the modified directive, SBGHC will resume non-emergent and non-urgent laboratory, diagnostic imaging and cardiorespiratory procedures at full capacity by Tuesday, Feb. 8.
Additional appointments have been added to SBGHC’s Community Lab Collection booking system beginning Monday, Feb. 7.
