Sixth episode of Century Farm Show released on June 30

Monthly Huron Perth Junior Farmers offering features Johnstondale Farms of Britton

HURON-PERTH – The Century Farm Show is a docu-series created by Huron Perth Junior Farmers in partnership with the Huron Heritage Fund, Lake Affect Media and The Staysh.

Its goal is to highlight the enduring legacy of the Century Farms of Huron and Perth counties; the series consists of 12 videos that each features a different family, their farm, and their history, each month. Catch a new episode at the end of each month in 2022 by visiting the Huron Perth Junior Farmers’ Facebook page (@huronperthjf).

The sixth farm featured in the Century Farm Show is Johnstondale Farms, located near Britton in North Perth. It is set to air Thursday, June 30.

Elizabeth and Georgina Johnston take viewers through the history of the farm, first purchased by their family in 1893. The Johnstons raised veal calves for a time before transitioning to finishing beef heifers.

The barn is the scene of many great memories, as every family member was included in the chores and the passion for farming was passed on to the next generations.

For Elizabeth and Georgina, this love of farming helped them find a community with Junior Farmers. As alumni of JF, they speak highly of the friendships they made while participating on bus trips and international exchanges through the organization.
