WEST GREY – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating a Nov. 7 crash east of Durham that claimed the life of one man and injured three others.
The SIU says the driver of a vehicle fled from a West Grey Police Service officer, resulting in a pursuit and ended with a two-vehicle collision on Grey County Road 4 near Concession Road 2, east of Durham.
The SIU is investigating the circumstances of the pursuit and resulting crash.
According to the SIU, a West Grey officer attempted to stop a driver near Priceville around 1:25 p.m. on Sunday. The driver then fled the scene and was involved in the crash on Grey County Road 4.
The suspect vehicle struck a vehicle with three people inside. The man driving the vehicle that was struck died at the scene, while the two passengers sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that fled is seriously injured, according to police.
Five investigators, including two forensic investigators, have been assigned to the case.
