Security concerns evident at SGBHC’s annual meeting

The area outside the Best Western in Walkerton was lined with protesters carrying “Save our Hospital” signs, on the evening of the annual meeting for South Bruce Grey Health Centre. More signs were posted along the road. “We just want to let our community and the broader community know that we will continue to fight for our hospital,” said Jana White, the committee chair of the Save the Durham Hospital group. “We were very explicit in organizing this in a way that peacefully showed our lack of happiness in the decision.” The protest was organized to be peaceful, according to White, with the intent of getting their message across without harassing hotel guests or board members. “It might not matter much, but we do what we can anyway,” one protestor said.
