A four-decade-old track and field record at Sacred Heart Teeswater has been broken. Luke McDonald etched his name in the school’s history books last week with a record-setting throw in the intermediate boys shot put competition. His throw of 10.47 metres bested the previous record of 10.10 metres, which was set in 1982. “This record-breaking achievement is a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence,” states Principal Leslie Boerkamp. “Luke has proven once again that dreams do come true through relentless effort and perseverance. His accomplishment serves as an inspiration to every aspiring athlete, reminding us all that with the right mindset and determination, anything is possible.”
