WINGHAM – Royal Homes announced, via press release, major increases for union staff.
According to the press release, Klaas Jorritsma, Royal Homes’ vice-president of operations, announced on Aug. 22 an agreement with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 1072.
“The agreement provides for a 20 per cent basic wage increase over a three year period including improvements to the benefits program, RRSP contributions, loyalty premiums and a special rate program for licensed Trades,” the release stated.
The release further stated that the agreement provides for an average starting rate in excess of $23 per hour.
“The contract ratification provides for ongoing stability for the employees with new home orders booked well into 2023,” Royal Homes stated in the release. “With over 50 years in custom home building, Royal Homes is going strong, continues to grow and is actively recruiting for eager, hardworking dedicated individuals to join our team.”
