Rail trail near Mildmay temporarily closed

BRUCE COUNTY – The Bruce County rail trail will be closed for two weeks (May 29 to June 7) between Absalom Street and Concession 30 in Mildmay due to the installation of a sanitary line within the rail trail corridor.

There will be no trail access for users while work is underway, and no detour will be provided during the construction period.

Bruce County asks that residents stay off the trail while work is in progress. See the map above for the areas impacted during construction.

Bruce County apologizes for any inconvenience that this closure causes.

Questions, concerns, or comments about the closure can be directed to Andrew Beumer, Bruce County’s trails manager, at 519-881-2400 or email abeumer@brucecounty.on.ca.

Trail users in the Saugeen Shores area should note that Saugeen Shores will be installing a new water and sanitary main to Innovation Park along Con. 6 from May 23 to Aug. 31, and access will be limited to local traffic only. This work at times will impede or include closures on the Bruce County Rail Trail running north and south across Con. 6. The parking area (315 Con. 6, Port Elgin) will also be closed and not accessible during construction.

ATV traffic will be re-routed around Port Elgin using a temporary bypass on Sideroad 18/19 and Con. 2. There will be no ATV access using Con. 6.
