The proposed bird watching area behind the Wastewater Treatment Plant Lagoons has been kyboshed by council on May 9’s North Perth council meeting. But staff did recommend a replacement: the storm water management pond near the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex. The new site (above) has all the benefits of the program, suggested by resident Doug Grant, without the security issues staff discovered about the lagoons. Council voted unanimously to investigate implementing the bird watching program here.
