Police seize nearly $11K in drugs, three Brockton residents facing charges

Police executed search warrant in Brant Township on March 30

BRANT TOWNSHIP – Three Brockton residents are facing various drug charges following the execution of a search warrant in Brant Township last month.

In a media release on April 8, South Bruce OPP say members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, West Region OPP Tactical Rescue Unit, and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team executed the warrant at a property along Side Road 15 on March 30.

According to police, seized were “a quantity of controlled substances” with an estimated value of $10,744 and offence-related property with an estimated value of $16,550.

As a result, police have charged Michael Vaughan, 52; Joshua Hamilton, 25; and Christopher Ellis, 39, all from Brockton.

Vaughan has been charged with:

  • possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking;
  • possession of methamphetamine;
  • possession of ecstasy;
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and
  • knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm.

Hamilton has been charged with:

  • possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking;
  • possession of methamphetamine;
  • possession of ecstasy;
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; and
  • knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm.

Ellis has been charged with:

  • possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking;
  • possession of methamphetamine;
  • possession of ecstasy; and
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All three accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.
