Police respond to Brant Township break-in, make arrest

BRANT TOWNSHIP – A Wellington North man is facing charges following his arrest at a break-in at a Brant Township commercial property on Jan. 25.

South Bruce OPP say they received a report of a break and enter at the property in the 1500 block of Bruce County Road 4 at 4:32 a.m. that day.

Members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and an OPP Canine Unit assisted the South Bruce OPP with a search of the area. A suspect was located and arrested without incident.

Charged is Frank Duchon, 45, from the Township of Wellington North. Duchon has been charged with break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, and theft over $5,000.

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for Jan. 25.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that a Black Audi S4 was stolen. The value of the stolen vehicle is estimated to be more than $40,000. There are no license plates on the vehicle, but the serial number is on file with police.
