CULROSS TOWNSHIP – Police say more than $200,000 worth of stolen property has been recovered following the execution of a search warrant at a Culross Township property.
A series of events on June 8 led to the execution of the search warrant.
Police received a report of a fuel theft from a property on Patrick Street in Huron East on June 8 just before 5 a.m.
Less than an hour later, police received a report of an attempted vehicle theft in Teeswater.
Police say officers “received a description of a white cube van” in both incidents.
A media release on June 15 states members of the Huron County OPP located the white cube van on a rural property on Concession 2 in Culross Township.
“Investigators received information that the suspects had access to firearms,” states the release.
A search warrant was executed, leading to the seizure of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Police say the estimated value of the drugs is $25,500.
Officers also recovered an estimated $211,235 in stolen property, including:
- GMC Sierra 2500;
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500;
- Ford F350;
- Ford F450 Cargo Van;
- Ford Excursion;
- Pontiac Firebird;
- Sea-Doo boat;
- utility trailer;
- Can-Am All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV);
- Yamaha ATV;
- Suzuki dirt bike;
- Ski-Doo snow mobile;
- KTM dirt bike;
- car hauler trailer;
- Salem camper trailer;
- brass knuckles/folding knife; and
- six Pelican kayaks.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and that no arrests have been made in this case as of June 16.
