Perth County extends thanks to first responders, public works for blizzard efforts

PERTH COUNTY – The County of Perth expressed deep gratitude to the region’s public works, first responders, essential workers, and many more for going above and beyond during the blizzard that occurred over the Christmas holidays.

“On behalf of county council, I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who worked so hard and went above and beyond during this severe weather event,” said Perth County Warden Rhonda Ehgoetz. “We have incredible people working across each municipality, and the combined efforts ensured the safety of everyone across the county.”

Beyond those staff working long hours during the storm, many local residents were willing to lend a hand to stranded travelers and those in need.

“It was heart warming to hear so many stories of citizens across Perth County stepping up and helping one another,” Ehgoetz noted. “We are fortunate to have strong communities with big hearts who were willing to help others in need.”

Perth County staff worked diligently throughout the storm to ensure public safety.

For some, this meant taking significant amounts of time away from family during the holiday season.

“The dedication shown by all during this time is admirable, and I sincerely thank everyone for their efforts,” Ehgoetz continued. “I wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year.”
