OPP investigating two suspicious deaths near Brussels

Police say a suspect has been taken into custody

HURON EAST – Members of the Huron County OPP Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), are investigating two deaths near Brussels.

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at approximately 4 p.m., Huron County OPP and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to a residence located on Graham Road, just south of Brussels, to complete a well-being check on the occupants.

Officers arrived on scene and located a deceased adult female inside the home. Police also located a deceased adult male on the property.

Police say both deaths are considered suspicious in nature.

According to a release from the OPP, post-mortem examinations are expected to be completed April 2 and further updates will be provided when they become available.

Members from the Huron County OPP Crime Unit, with the assistance of OPP Tactics & Rescue Unit (TRU), OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP Regional Support Team (RST), under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), arrested a family member on April 1 in connection with two suspicious deaths near Brussels.

According to a police release, the individual remains in custody, however, police say no charges have been laid in this ongoing investigation.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity taking place on or near Graham Road between the evening hours of Tuesday, March 29, 2022 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
