Terry Pook

Terrence Arthur Pook of Listowel, and formerly of Kincardine and Kitchener, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in his 80th year.

Husband of Shirley (McDowell) Pook.  Father of Scott Pook, and Kevin Pook, both of Toronto, and Heather & Ken Harrington of Amherstburg, and also father to Shirley’s children Kevin Smith of Waterloo, and Val & Todd Wilken of Listowel.  Grandfather of Devan, Carlie and affectionately known as Grandmapa to Mackenzie, and Drew.

Predeceased by his first wife Corrie, parents Arthur and Dorothy (Beaman) Pook, his sister Phyllis Hodgins and husband Bob, and by his son Sean in infancy.

Terry Pook believed in serving his community. He was an active member of the Masonic Order, serving several terms as the Master of his Lodge in both Kincardine and Listowel.  He was a man who drew comfort from his faith, and demonstrated this by serving as warden at several churches he belonged to. He was also a volunteer driver for wheels of hope through the Canadian Cancer Society.

After the passing of his first wife Corrie, he was blessed to find love again with Shirley and together they formed a foundation of a larger blended family.  Our family smiles fondly with our memories of Terry and picture him in Heaven with a big plate of angel food cake with lemon pie filling with lots of whip cream.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m.  The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiated.  Reception followed at the Listowel Legion.

Interment was in the Anglican Church of the Messiah Memorial Garden, Kincardine.

Memorial donations to the Masonic Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
