Edward William ‘Ted’ Swindells of Listowel, and formerly of East York, Toronto passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital with his family by his side on Sunday, June 9, 2024, in his 82nd year.
Ted was born on April 12, 1943 in Toronto, the son of Arthur & Dorothy (Stowe) Swindells and brother to Kathleen (Swindells) Canning.
Loving husband of Sharon (Baker) Swindells to whom he was married for 55 years. Loving Father of Tina (Ward), Jody, and Michael (Sarah). Loving Poppa of Paige, Jackson (Trisha), Sydney, Demian (Lydia), Gage, Daisy, Katrina, Lilly, Dorothy, and Cooper. Loving Poppa to Great Grandchildren Abigail and Jack. Loving Uncle to Kim Canning and loving Father-in-law to Ryan Meunier.
Ted enjoyed spending time with all his family at his cottage in the summer. He loved trains, planes and enjoyed watching Air shows and took his children to them many of times. He loved listening music and enjoyed a good game of cards or Yahtzee late at night. He enjoyed drinking and playing darts with his cousins even in the rain. He loved life in general and went all out for every holiday with decorations and celebrating with big dinners for all his family.
Ted was a family man through and through. He was devoted to his 10 grandchildren and spent many years entertaining them and building tight bonds with each of them. He was overjoyed to have recently welcomed 2 Great Grand kids who were his pride and joy. Ted was a pillar to his family. We will all be forever grateful for all the time we spent with him and memories made.
