Stanley Gordon Ferguson passed away on October 31, 2023, in his 90th year surrounded by his family at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton.
Beloved husband of Jean Ferguson for 64 years and cherished father to Stephen (Nina) of St. Catharines, Don (Cindy) of North Carolina and the late Robert (Julie) Ferguson of Texas. Stan will be greatly missed by his grandchildren; Daniel, Melissa, Collin and Brett. He is survived by his brother Walter Ferguson of Guelph. Stan was predeceased by his brothers Donald Ferguson and Archie Ferguson, as well as his sisters Betty Seim and Anne Eva.
Stan was born on March 17, 1934, at Walkerton Hospital. Stan and his family grew up in the goal residence in Walkerton as his parents, Archie and May Ferguson, were the governor and matron of the Bruce County Goal. He grew up playing basketball, football, hockey and curling. After graduating high school, Stan attended electronics school in Detroit, Michigan and returned to Toronto and then back to Walkerton to work for Bell Canada for 35 years. He spent his summers in Inverhuron and his winters in Walkerton. Stan was an avid fisherman, hunter, and Boy Scout Leader. Later in life, Stan enjoyed curling, lawn bowling, bridge, billiards, and sailing. Stan was also an active member of the Walkerton branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Stan will be sadly missed by his family and friends including the Inverhuron happy hour gang.

Friends and relatives are invited for a memorial visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Cameron’s in Walkerton.
